Our regular firewood delivery days are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday are not available as standard delivery days. Available dates are shown when you order online.

Yes. When ordering an eligible firewood product, choose from the available Wednesday–Friday delivery dates shown in the order form. Dates that are unavailable or blacked out will not be selectable.

Yes, stacking is available on applicable orders for an additional charge. Choose the stacking option while ordering and give us clear instructions about where the wood needs to be stacked. Safe access and the distance from the delivery truck can affect what is possible.

Firewood is normally dumped at a suitable driveway or delivery location accessible to our truck. Use the dumping-instructions field during checkout to tell us exactly where you would like the load placed. Please keep the requested area clear and accessible before delivery.

8″–12″ is best suited to small wood stoves and many saunas. 14″–16″ is the most versatile size and fits many standard stoves and fireplaces. 18″–22″ is intended for larger fireboxes, outdoor boilers, large fireplaces, and open fires. Always measure the usable inside width of your appliance and leave comfortable clearance around the logs.

8″–12″ and 18″–22″ firewood are available in Mixed Hardwood only. Our 14″–16″ range offers the full selection of available wood types, including Mixed Hardwood and our premium species options. Current availability is shown in the shop.

Mixed Hardwood is our versatile everyday option and our simplest recommendation for most customers. The mix can include hardwood species such as ash, maple, birch, and oak. Exact composition can vary, so if you have a specific requirement, call us before ordering.

Mixed Hardwood is a practical all-around choice. Sugar Maple is a dense premium hardwood suited to steady heat. Birch is popular for an attractive, lively fire. A full cord contains 128 stacked cubic feet of firewood. A traditional reference stack is 4 feet high × 8 feet long × 4 feet deep. In our local market, customers commonly refer to a full cord as a bush cord.

“Face cord” is a common local description for a single stacked row of firewood that is approximately 4 feet high × 8 feet long, with the depth determined by the log length. For a 16-inch-deep reference row, that works out to about 42.7 cubic feet, or roughly one-third of a 128-cubic-foot full cord. Because log lengths vary, the actual stacked depth of a row varies too.

A half face cord is half the amount of the corresponding face-cord row. For our 16-inch reference, the visual is roughly 2 feet high × 8 feet long × one row deep. It is a useful smaller order for occasional fires, cottages, or customers who do not need a full face cord.

A half bush cord is half of a full 128-cubic-foot cord, or approximately 64 cubic feet. It is a larger stock-up option for regular burners who do not need a full bush cord.

That depends on how often you burn, the size and efficiency of your appliance, your home, and whether firewood is your primary heat source or something you use occasionally. If you only burn on weekends, start smaller. If you heat regularly through winter, a half bush cord or bush cord may make more sense. The Firewood Finder can help narrow down the quantity.

Seasoning is the process of allowing split firewood to dry over time with exposure to air and suitable storage conditions. Drier wood is generally easier to light, burns more efficiently, and produces less smoke than green wood. Our firewood is sold as seasoned, and many of our product descriptions note a 1.5–2 season drying period.

Keep firewood off the ground, protected from rain and snow, and open to airflow. A covered wood shed, open-sided shelter, or well-ventilated stack works well. Avoid sealing the entire pile tightly in plastic because trapped moisture needs somewhere to escape.

Leave some space between the firewood and any wall so air can move around the pile. Keeping the stack stable, off the ground, and accessible also makes winter use easier.

Very cold or snow-covered wood can be harder to light. Bringing a small amount into a safe indoor storage area ahead of time allows surface frost or snow to disappear before you burn it. Do not store excessive amounts next to a stove or other ignition source.

No. Burn only suitable firewood in a wood-burning appliance. Painted, pressure-treated, glued, or chemically treated materials can release unwanted contaminants when burned and may damage your appliance or chimney.

Burn properly seasoned firewood, operate your stove or fireplace according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and have your chimney and appliance inspected and cleaned as appropriate by a qualified professional. Smouldering, smoky fires can contribute to creosote buildup.

Working smoke alarms and carbon-monoxide alarms are essential in homes with fuel-burning appliances. Follow the placement, testing, replacement, and maintenance instructions provided by the alarm and appliance manufacturers and applicable local requirements.
